Annie Nguyen
Annie is a high school teacher on break and friend of the shop — she loves spending her summers sharing her passion for crochet, when her toddler’s busy schedule allows. She brings 10+ years of crochet experience and can guide both new learners and more seasoned hookers looking to advance to new skill levels.

Crochet Basics
Grab a hook and let’s get started! Students will learn the foundational skills, including how to chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and to read a pattern. Open for adults and children ages 8+.

Hair Scrunchies and Hacky Sacks
The 80s called… they want their rad stuff back! Students will choose between a scrunchie or a hacky sack. They’re fun gifts for the kids and teens in your life. This is the perfect project for crocheters who already know the basics. Open for adults and children ages 8+.

French Market Bag
Make even the most quotidian of grocery runs feel romantic with this chic French market bag. Collapsible to a compact size, you’ll want to make several in different colors. Two hours. Recommended for intermediate or advanced beginners.

Faina Goberstein

Faina Goberstein is the designer behind FGDesigns, author, knitter, and a professional teacher based in CA. Her interest in wide assortment of knitting techniques, and unusual stitch patterns with interesting texture paired with skills for a perfect finishing is evident in her designs and topics of her inspirational classes. She teaches at Vogue Knitting Live, Rowan Connect, guilds, and other various venues around the country and abroad, both live and virtually. Faina also has a wide selection of online classes available on Interweave.com and Craftsy.com.
Faina is the author of Fresh Slipstitch and the co-author of The Art of Slip Stitch and The Art of Seamless Knitting. Her designs often appear in internationally recognized magazines such as Rowan, Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, Cast-On, Farm and Fiber Knits, and in numerous books. She is best known for her innovative applications of slip-stitch patterns and her elegant, well-fitted classic designs.
Sweater Finishing Series
Each of the 5 classes will be 2 hours in duration. Homework will be emailed to each student 2 weeks prior to the first class. Homework will then be assigned at the end of each class for the upcoming class.
Cost: $250 for the series
All classes will be held on Sundays from 11:00am - 1:00pm
- Sept 27: Seaming - Different types and when best used.
- Oct 11: Pick Up Stitches - The proper way and rate to pick up stitches.
- Oct 25: Buttonband & Buttonholes - The many ways to make a buttonband and Buttonholes.
- Nov 8: Neckline Modifications - Love the design, want a V-neck instead of a crew neck and all the in-between choices.
- Nov 15: Collars - All the many ways to change that collar up and bind it off.
Beginning Knitting
We offer beginning knitting all times of the week! Pick a time that works best for you and come on by, usually best to give a call first to see if Marcia isn’t already teaching!
Cost: $40 per hour for a private lesson. 2 hours if semi-private.
